Here is a great article published in the Jan 17th Wall Street Journal. It is exactly the premise of Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride’s work… the gut/brain and gut/body connection. This article nicely highlights other researchers and their findings… everything from anxiety, depression, Parkinson’s, autism, etc. It even explains the cascade effect of serotonin on repair of liver & lungs, normal development of heart and bone mass. The article further explains how most serotonin is produced in the gut, so our gut health is critical to the serotonin pathway working in our body/brains.
Dr. Natasha first published her work in 2004. It is great to see that there are other researchers now working in this same area. This should help more people have access to this critical information.
Here's to Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride for her willingness and passion to step forward and document this valuable work many years ago. Here's to all of the others who are now researching the gut/brain connection. May all of this come together to help propel us forward with helping those who are afflicted with issues that result from gut dysbiosis (imbalanced gut).
